The ability to create something from nothing has always captivated me—whether it’s sketching my thoughts on a blank sheet of paper or picking up a guitar and letting a few notes resonate. The rise of digital tools has expanded the extend of possibilities, offering 3D design, motion graphics, editing, and special effects. However, I strongly believe in keeping the user at the center, ensuring they retain as much creative freedom as possible. This passion drove me to pursue my studies in Computer Science all the way to a Ph.D at Ecole Polytechnique, France under the supervision of Professor Marie-Paule Cani and Researcher Pooran Memari.
My Ph.D focused on using sketches as input to model, animate and deform shapes up to creating a story out of them. I had the opportunity to apply my work to the exploration of architectural design and the communication of the skin infection phenomenon. Both experiences were enriching, driven by the specific needs of professionals in these fields and the challenge of creating tools that are both powerful and easy to use.
After that, I did a one-year post-doc at ICube in Strasbourg to focus on the geometry behind shape deformations. I am currently working in industry but academic research always has a special place in my heart.
